If you want to make a change in your life, the simple answer is yes. Therapy is a powerful tool that can benefit anyone who wants to improve their quality of life.
We have found that while there are a number of factors that make therapy "successful," the most important one is you, the client. It takes courage, commitment, and vulnerability to get the most out of therapy. So if you are ready to learn more about yourself, overcome barriers, develop healthier habits, and improve relationships, we're here for you.
Your first few sessions will give you and your therapist an opportunity to get to know each other and determine if you are a good fit. You may be asked some questions about your background and goals for therapy. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the therapy process, as well as discuss a plan for treatment. If for some reason you and your therapist are not the right fit, you will be provided with trusted referrals.
Great! We are excited to speak with you. Please visit our Contact Us page to book an appointment directly or call to schedule an appointment.
Yes, sessions are by appointment only. Unfortunately, we are unable to take walk-in or same day appointments.
Our rates range up to $150 per 50-minute session. First sessions are a flat rate of $100.
Our priority is to get you the help you need. If you are concerned about the cost of a session, please feel free to talk to your clinician. We are more than happy to make accommodations.
Mindful Connections uses a holistic and integrated approach to counseling, meaning that we use numerous different approaches to therapy to fit your needs as a whole. Specific practices and approaches that are used include but are not limited to: Person-Centered Counseling, Humanistic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman Marriage Training and Systems Theory.
We understand things come up. Please provide us with at least 24-hours notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. You may be charged a late cancelation fee equal to the cost of your session fee if you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment time.
Your appointment time is reserved for you, and only you, so as soon as you arrive, we will begin the session and use whatever time is left.
Typically, sessions occur once per week. You and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need.
Therapists are required years of training in evidence-based and scientific practices to best help navigate whatever difficulties you may be facing, as well as form a strong and powerful therapeutic relationship. Unlike other relationships in your life, your therapist is an external, unbiased, and objective support who can help you gain new perspective in a way that others you are close with cannot. When you come to therapy, you and your therapist are dedicating time to the task of taking care of you and only you. Furthermore, confidentiality is an essential component of therapy, so no need to worry about your privacy.
Length of treatment depends on the person present, presenting issue(s) and the goals of treatment. Brief treatment might be as short as five sessions to twelve sessions while longer term therapy might last several years. We will collaborate to determine the length of treatment that is both clinically appropriate and best meets your needs.
Absolutely not. All types of relationships are completely welcome.
While therapists can diagnosis conditions using the DSM-V, we do not prescribe medication under any circumstances. We will, of course, provide you with referrals to trusted psychiatrists and collaborate with him/her to coordinate your care if necessary.
Give us a call or an email. We really want to hear what is going on in your life.
